Brent Brown Toyota * Overall Score
Summary (read a different person's opinion on Brent Brown Toyota): This was one of the worst car shopping experiences I've ever had which continues to press into my mind the bad ethics of car salesmen. We were looking for a Toyota truck, and since we were from Provo, we visited Brent Brown. The salesman was not very friendly, but we were more interested in the truck. They didn't have exactly what we wanted so we stopped by a dealership in Sandy as well. They were wonderful, helpful, friendly and gave us a great deal on a truck that had a few extra features, but they discounted the price so it was a perfect fit. Strangely, the salesman from Brent Brown Toyota came in and saw us talking with another dealer, but we didn't think much of it. After finalizing everything, they mentioned the truck was at Brent Brown Toyota in Provo and they would call when the truck was ready for pickup. Later that evening, they called and said that truck at Brent Brown was already sold and not available anymore even though they had a confirmation it was available. The associate in Sandy said that since the salesman in Provo saw us, they typically put stop on the purchase since he didn't get the commission. So we called Brent Brown Toyota and asked if they had the model we were looking for. They said it was available, and we mentioned that we would like to purchase it. We went down there and saw the exact truck that we were going to purchase from the Sandy dealer, except it was "all of the sudden" available. We sat down with the crappy salesperson that came in and saw us in Sandy and the first thing he said was "we already have a buyer for this truck willing to pay $XX.XXX". I thought that was very rude. We talked about the price and they wouldn't even come close to the price we were going to pay by getting the truck in Sandy. So we asked for a manager. After explaining the situation of trying to purchase the truck in Sandy, he gave us the runaround about how they don't like to sell trucks to other dealers and how we should buy it from them. We all left and purchased the truck elsewhere. The people at Brent Brown Toyota were unfriendly, unethical, and gave the name we all associate with slimy car salesmen.
