| Summary: Buying a bike is always a headache - I felt that Golsan Cycle's went out of their way to make sure that we had a great experience. I would highly recommend that anybody thinking of getting a mountain bike or a road bike check out Golsan Cycles. Also, if you are looking for components or repair for your bike, they will be able to help you out. (Note that the one we visited was in South Jordan, but they also have a location in Holladay). Full Review (read another review of Golsan Cycles) Product Selection They have a pretty good selection of mountain bikes and road bikes, but I wish they had a few different brands. Mostly they just have treks, haro's and Gary Fisher's - I was hoping they would have Specialized. Product Quality The bikes they had were really good. My wife got an awesome bike and so far it has been great. Also, they back up the quality of their new bikes - you get free tune-ups during the first year. Note that they do not include truing the tires as "routine maintenance," so you will probably have to pay to get your tires trued. Service The guy showing us around really knew what he was talking about and is a rider. It always makes me feel better to by biking components from someone who knows what they are talking about. Price We got a really good deal on my wife's bike. We paid about $450 and got a brand new bike with all shimano components. Also, it has a nice shock on the front. I was impressed with how light the bike is considering how little it cost. Reasonable Sales Tactics I didn't feel pressured into buying the bike at all. The only thing that kind of bothered us is that they didn't have the color that my wife wanted in stock, so they were going to charge us more to mail-order it. Apparently they were overstocked on the bikes they were selling, so they were discounted, so it wasn't that big of a deal. One thing that the salesmen did that I really liked was he asked us what price range we were in, then picked out one below our price range, one in ourprice range, and one a bit higher. He explained the advantages of each and didn't try to push the more expensive bikes. We ended up getting the one in our price range. Problem Resolution We thought the bike would fit in our car to take home, but it wouldn't. We bought a bike rack for the back of our car (about $100) and they actually installed it for us in the rain. I was very impressed. Value Overall, I feel like shopping at Golson's Cycles was a good value for us - we got a great bike at a great price and had a great experience buying it - the only thing that we could ask for besides this was to get the color of bike that my wife wanted, but that isn't that big of a deal.
