Summary: I was hired by Norm Gardner from 12/08/2005 through 02/11/2006, at which date he summarily fired me for the excuse of "being too much like him", whatever that means. No warning, just "get the hell out". I would like to tell you, Norm Gardner is a bully on the job. When others are around he's polite and well-mannered, but without others present he's a psychopathic terror to work with. He repeatedly mocked me (creepily using the voice of a little girl), demeaned me, insulted me, and ignored me to the point where I cried every night when I went home from work. His psychological tricks and games were, I thought at first, the natural result of insecurity due to his progressive blindness, but now I believe he's not insecure at all, but is rather a psychopath who hides behind his disability and uses it as a weapon. His almost-daily abuse and sadistic bullying of me made me temporarily suicidal, insomniac, and destroyed my self-esteem. I made every effort to perform well, to excel, and to contribute above and beyond the requirements of the job at the Vending Outreach Program for the National Federation of the Blind in his backyard office at 1094 South 350 West, Orem, UT. (801-224-6969), but it was never enough, never good enough, and never even acknowledged in most cases. I honestly belive he's a sick, perverted man and needs to be stopped or at least publicized before he does further damage to more innocent victims. I spoke with 3 other ex-secretaries of his and his behavior with them was identical to mine. I feel deeply sorry for his family, who I suspect hide many a sorrow behind the mask, as it were. Working for him has done considerable damage to me and it has been a detriment my life to have had contact with this hypocrite, this monster, this wolf in sheep's clothing! I've tried to get help from the government and lawyers but there seems to be no recourse and I am very frustrated about it. He reminds me of a blind male BYU student I saw viciously beating his guide dog many years ago on campus. I tried very hard and did extra work at no charge, smiled and was perfectly polite always - and was treated abysmally for it. To my mind, Norm Gardner defines evil.
